Things to know about Puerperal Fever

A woman who has just given birth to a child always has a slight fever for a few days after childbirth. Such a fever is not dangerous, and seldom lasts more than three or four days.
There is always same hemorrhage during and just following the birth of the child, and at the time the afterbirth comes out; but such bleeding normally lasts far only a short time.
Normally the child gives a cry and begins breathing as soon as it is born. If the child' does not give a cry and start breathing, but lies perfectly still, or only gasps feebly, it must quickly be made to breathe.

Pregnancy Tips – Labour

Two signs mark the onset of labour. One is that there is a reddish discharge from the vagina; the other is "labour pains." The true labour pains occur at fairly regular intervals of fifteen to thirty minutes at first, becoming more frequent as labour progresses.
As the time of confinement draws near, the room should be swept well. Remove everything hanging on the walls and then whitewash the walls with lime.
As' soon as a woman becomes pregnant, the ovum, which is much smaller then a mustard seed (it is 0.2 mm. in diameter) begins to grow.
